Banh Mi (or nom pang) and Homemade Baguette
My mom and I make this sandwich weekly. We ran out of bolillo rolls (Mexican version of French bread), and we love its chewy/crispy crust. It’s great for substituting French bread when making this sandwich. Anyways, this is my first attempt at baking baguette. I make buns often so the process is quite similar. I made two batches to test AP flour and bread flour. I can’t taste the difference. Lol. But this needs some work. Overall, I think the bread turned out good. =)
Filling: garlicky soy sauce beef, Vietnamese salami, turkey, pickled carrots and jalapeno, cucumber, and cilantro. I used mayo and Sriracha for the condiments.
Banh Cheo (chao, cheov, or however it’s pronounced!)
Filling: ground pork, scallions, onions, shallots, jalapenos, and bean sprouts.
I love to douse mine with Sriracha! =D
